Company Description

Job Description

Are you a creative communicator who enjoys turning complexity into stories people can understand and relate to? Are you interested in people, transformation and the role communication can play in bringing the two together?

Join CERN's Human Capital Management (HCM) project and help us communicate one of the Organization's major transformations. HCM will reshape the HR systems and processes supporting people throughout their working lives at CERN, creating a more connected experience from recruitment to departure.

As part of the HCM Change and Adoption team, you will help bring this transformation closer to CERN's diverse community. You will contribute to shaping our communications approach and turn it into clear, engaging, audience-focused communications that help people understand what is changing, why it matters, and what it means for them.

Your responsibilities:

  • Translate the HCM project's communication strategy into concrete communication activities.
  • Plan and deliver communications around the project milestones, managing multiple deliverables and deadlines autonomously.
  • Turn complex information into clear and engaging messages for different audiences, working closely with experts and stakeholders.
  • Create content across a broad range of channels and formats, including posts, emails, webpages, presentations, one-pagers, communication toolkits, videos and other multimedia content.
  • Manage HCM communication channels and editorial planning.
  • Contribute to wider change and adoption activities such as surveys and learning materials.

Your profile

  • Professional experience in communications, ideally in organisational change, large-scale transformation project, or another complex multistakeholder environment.
  • Demonstrated ability translating complex information into clear and engaging content for different audiences.
  • Experience managing communication activities and an editorial calendar against multiple deadlines and milestones.
  • Experience with common content creation, web, presentation and visual communication tools; experience creating or coordinating video/multimedia content would be an advantage.
  • Proactive, collaborative and eager to learn in a dynamic project environment.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of French an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate with clarity, creativity and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisation skills and ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines.
  • Collaborative and confident working with people from different backgrounds and areas of expertise.
  • Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.

Eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • You have a professional background in Communications, Marketing or related (or a related field) and have either:
    • a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
    • or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
